Meet Colleen: The Soaplady

Today, solitude, especially at the senior age is less of a choice and more a matter of fact. Many people find it hard to deal with, some make peace with it but then there are people like COLLEEN M LOWE, who realize this fact and make their life sustainable and working for themselves.

I first met Colleen when I was looking for a room to rent and I was impressed by her from day one.

Colleen is an entrepreneur and she makes her own organic soap, distributes them and retails them by herself at various expositions and markets. She has been doing this for over two decades now.

She was an instant choice for a subject of my second documentary. It is not just her business and entrepreneurship that is the reason for this choice but her reasons to do it. In her own words, “she doesn’t have a child and her work is her baby. The reason to do it is make the world a better place even in a slightest manner.”

I believe if everybody pursues their life in the same manner, the society we live in would be a better and healthier place.
